Renewal before expiration of the domain name
You can renew your domain name already registered in our registration system at any time for an annual period of one to five years. However, the total validity period (*) cannot exceed five years from the date of your renewal application.
Exemple :
- You have registered the domain name “exemple.ma” originally from 04/23/2014 to 04/22/2016.
- You want to make a three-year renewal on 03/15/2015.
- Three years will be added to your first expiration date that is 04/22/2016. The new expiration date becomes 04/22/2019.
- If you want to make a renewal for four years on 03/15/2015, your new expiration date would be 04/22/2020. However, the validity of the domain name starting the renewal date exceeds five years. This renewal application will be rejected.
Renewal after the expiration of the domain name
30 days before the expiration of your domain name, you will receive an e-mail notification from your registrar, to remind you the expiration date of this domain name.
You can proceed with its renewal, even after its expiration.
Indeed, your domain name has a period known as “grace for renewal” that lasts 30 days after the expiration date. During these 30 days, you can, through your registrar, renew your domain name at any time to the selected annual period (from 1 to 5 years).
Tacit Renewal of the domain name
If at the end of the renewal grace period no action is taken by your registrar (no renewal application or cancellation request) your domain name is automatically renewed for one (1) year, from the expiration date, and you will be charged in this way.
You have the right to request the change of your registrar at any time, as long as your domain name is active.
If you do not have the authorization code (*) of your domain name, you can request it to your current registrar. This one has three (3) days to give it to you.
If your current registrar does not respond to your request within the prescribed period, send an e-mail to the following address : dns@anrt.ma.
ANRT sends this code to the e-mail of the domain name’s Registrant, as mentioned in our registration system.
It is therefore important that the e-mail address you communicated to your registrar is correct.
When you receive the code in question, you need to transmit it to your new registrar who will handle the change of registrar with ANRT.
Your previous registrar has a maximum of five days to accept or reject your request for change of registrar.
ANRT shall decide upon the response from your old registrar and inform your new registrar.
if the change of registrar is made, the expiration date of your domain name remains unchanged.
At any time, you can transfer your domain name to a third party, provided that your domain name is active.
You must then sign the voluntary transfer form and send it to your registrar. It has a period of five (5) days from the date of receipt of the form to submit it to ANRT.
ANRT rules on the transfer request within five (5) days from the date of its receipt by the Registrar.
Cancelation before the expiration of the domain name
At any time, you can proceed with the cancelation of your domain name, with your registrar.
You must in that case fill in the cancellation form , sign it and send it to your registrar who will proceed to the cancellation of your domain name.
Your domain name, once canceled, does not become free immediately. Indeed, you have a period called “grace of cancelation” which lasts 30 days from the date of cancelation.
During these 30 days, you can, through your registrar, proceed with the re-registration of your domain name at any time for the selected annual period (from 1 to 5 years), according to the current registration process.
If you register again your domain name, it is activated with a new creation date, for the period requested. You will be charged consequently.
Otherwise, at the end of the grace period, your domain name is permanently deleted from the registration system and thus becomes free for registration by any third party.
Cancelation after the expiration of the domain name
When your domain name expires, it enters a period called “grace of renewal” that lasts 30 days after the expiration date.
During these 30 days, and at any time, you can cancel your domain name if you no longer need it. You then fill in the cancellation form , sign it and send it to your registrar who executes the cancelation of your domain name.
However, if you do not make any arrangement with your registrar (no application for renewal or cancellation request) you will get a new notification from your registrar. In the absence of a response from you. Your registrar may cancel your domain name.
In the two previous cases, your domain name is permanently removed from our registration system at the end of the grace period, and thus becomes free for registration by any third party.
